Why Are These Two Laptops So Cheap?
These laptops aren’t netbooks but they’re cheaper than one.
The first one is a Toshiba with…
Intel Celeron Processor.
2 GB of RAM
160 GB Hard drive
and it’s only $299.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…
The second one looks better but is a Compaq with basically the same things for $329.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?…
They both have Windows Vista Home Basic which sucks.
So i’m wondering why they’re so cheap and do you think they’ll be that cheap when Windows 7 officially comes out since Windows 7 will only have Home Premium (I know it’ll have Professional and all that stuff but you know what i mean).

It’s either they’re cheap because they got poor specifications. Or they’re cheap because no one buys them.
I think those are nice deals. And yeah, those laptops come in Home Premium. When I bought my brother a laptop, I intended to buy him something that has Home Basic so that I can perform an evil laugh… I was surprised when I first boot it up to install Microsoft Office because it has Home Premium (and the flyer says Home Basic)
the ‘vista sucks’ rant has been mis-played for a viriety of reasons. i’ve used vissta since beta 1 and never had any of the issues associated w/ it. as for the laptops you mention, you can get a net book for less if you loo, but always remember, you might not always get what youpay for, but you almost never get something you didn’t pay for.
Vista basic doesn’t come with the 7 upgrade, I think?
Other than that, they’re probably cheap because you can get twice the RAM, HD, better video/monitor, better processor…for under $600…with Vista Home Premium AND free 7 upgrade.
they are cheap because the possessor is very slow and cheap the hrd drive is small they aren’t very compact have okay battery life and average amount of ram
The components in both, especially the CPUs, are absolute garbage.
