What Brand Has The Best Cheap Laptop?

I’m looking to buy a cheap laptop ($500 or so). What brand would be the most reliable? I’m considering a dell inspiron, but have read a lot of negative things about dell. I want a cheap laptop that will last a year or two. What do you recommend?

Get an Acer Laptop, i find them very good, i’ve had mine for about 3 years and still no problems.
brand name is irrelevent. Even HP (formerly considered one of the beter quality more expensive brands) has outstanding deals.
I just bought an HP Laptop for my wife for $399: Dual Core, 15.6″, 4GB of RAM, Lightscribe DVD Burner, Vista Premium 64-Bit.
Don’t shop brand, shop for price and what you like. Just find the right deal. Compare features and performance with the top-10 best and get something of reasonable value for less.

I suggest that you get HP or Toshiba instead of Dell.
As “Mob” said, Acer is also a good brand.

How about one of those laptops for only 12 cents. The shipping price is usually 12 – 20 $ The price for a laptop shipping is about 19$
dell or acer, also depends and what you need the laptop for i wouldnt reccomend high quality 3d graphics with those brands.
