I am going to go off to college next fall term and I am looking for a good laptop. I am looking for one that would be excellent for school work and powerful enough to play high end, new gaming. I am just looking for a good laptop company or just a model.

I currently have an Acer Aspire One, and I want a netbook or smaller laptop which I can use for school (so it’ll need to fit in to a normal backpack) but I also would like it enough power video card wise to play games such as the Sims 3.
Ideas?

I want to buy zoo tycoon and I have a laptop. If the case says it does not support intergrated chipsets and laptops, won’t it work?

I need some arguments for and against schools giving their students their own laptops for homework assignments and such. If anyone has an opinion I’d like to hear it.

Do Xbox 360 Controllers Work For Laptops?

I plan on getting Assassins Creed for my laptop. I was wondering if 360 controllers worked with laptops.
Note: I have windows vista Ultimate
PS: If they do, is it a normal 360 controller or a special windows one?

Does The Following Procedure Work On All Laptops?

With a desktop computer you press “numeric lock” and enter alt codes such as “alt 1″ = ☺ on the numeric keypad to get the special characters.
With a laptop where there is no separate keypad you must press a function key to lock the keypad overlay on. I have found out the by pressing the “Fn+Alt+overlay keypad number” I get the same effect without locking and then unlocking the overlay. For example “Fn+Alt+1″ = ☺. Hold down “Fn and Alt” then press and release the 1, then release “Fn and Alt”. Character appears when all keys are released. I have a Toshiba. Does this procedure work on all laptops?

You know, those USB wireless modem things you buy that give you pre-paid internet and you use them for laptops when you dont have a router in the area.
how quick can they send internet data?
do you recharge (like in a mobile pre-paid would) the USB modem once you’ve used up all your internet quota?
