I need to know before (atleast) christmas is over.

I have an Toshiba that over heats when I’m playing wow and it turns off on me after about an hr or less sometimes. What type of laptop could I use to avoid this from happening?

I want a new laptop. As of now I own the HPdv1000, which has many complications and problems and instead of fixing it, the money could be used to go toward the purchase of a new one. Thanks for your time and answers.

I need to buy a laptop because it is a lot more efficient for college. My price range is anywhere from 950 to 1250. I need something with Removable Device ports, ethernet ports, compact and floppy drives, and the overall brand has to be easy to carry and highly portable.

I’m planning on buying a new laptop in a few months and as far as online stores go I can only think of walmart, sony, and hp. What are some other places?
Note: Don’t mention alienware because they are way overpriced. It is way cheaper to go to newegg or tigerdirect and buy the parts separately and put them together or have someone else put them together for you.

1) Your connection speed is just as important as your machine in influencing the quality of your ingame play. You don’t address that.
2) Don’t choose a machine based on someone here saying yes or no. Compare the machine specs with the game requirement and recommendation specs.
3) You’ve started asking about laptops instead. Be aware that the same performance will likely cost more in a laptop. In other words, IN GENERAL, you’ll get better performance from the same amount of money spent on a desktop machine.

Some schools make it madatory for all students to have a laptop. Books are read off of them and assignments are done. What are the advantages? Do you think it is worth it?

My father figure wants to purchase a new computer for himself and hardly knows anything about computers. Since he is fairly new and said so himself that he isn’t interested in doing any complicated tasks (just general things like surfing the net, shopping online, youtube, etc.) what kind of company makes a better laptop for newbies? Intel, or compaq?

I know this may sound like a very simple question but what exactly is the difference between a netbook, a notebook and a laptop? I want a computer that my daughter can use to go on the internet, play DVDs and games – and do school work! It has to be portable as she will be using it in different rooms in the house – so, back to my original question – what is the difference between a netbook, a laptop and a notebook – apart from price!
