My mothers computer is infected with the AntivirXP08 virus, I’ve done a little research and it sounds like this virus is difficult to uninstall. I Installed McAfee and ran a scan, it detected the virus but "cannot remove completely", I tried Add/Remove programs but it cannot be removed from there either. This virus also installed a blue warning wallpaper that cannot be removed. Any info would be helpful.

my bro’s laptop is greatly infected by this virus that changed the wallpaper to a one that displayed "Your privacy is in danger". at the same time, right next to the time, there is the word "VIRUS ALERT". how do i remove it? please help, im thinking of reformatting the laptop, but before that, i think im going to tinker it a little bit
