I don’t have a desktop to create a wired broadband connection. Although I could do it with one laptop and use a router, is there a way to have an internet connection in my home allowing me to carry my laptops wherever I want? I have Optimum Online btw.

Hi I need help.
There are 2 laptops I want to connect to the internet.
I have a Linksys Broadband Router and would like to connect them with the internet cords.
Neither laptop connects to the internet when I do this. What do I do?
Thanks for the info and I really would like to get this working!

Is it possible for 2 wifi enabled laptops to communicate with one another(share files, run programs ect.) wirelessly when they are close together without the use of a router or another form of wired network?

I have two laptop computers and one desktop. My plan is to get rid of the desktop because it is old and slow. I was wondering if I had to have a “host” computer hooked up to a wireless router in order for it to work with my laptops or can I just hook the router up to my dsl modem?

My dad just bought a laptop and he has no idea how to connect to the internet using my router. The problem is, that the router and all of the wireing is in my room and it won’t send a signal (in livingroom) to his laptop. How can I have both laptops connected?

I have a wireless g router now and it works fine, but I would like to increase the workable distance. Will just upgrading the wireless router help if I don’t also upgrade the cards in the laptops?

I have a linksys G but I feel like the speed with which we connect to and use the internet is very slow now that the kids all have laptops. I was thinking about getting an N router because of the traffic within my own home network. Is that going to help or should I save the money?

I want to share files between my laptops. Is it possible to do this on a wireless (no ethernet cable)?
Do I need to set static IP Addresses for each laptop?
Is there a website that will tell me how to do this (for 2 wireless laptops)?
