Thanks
I’m looking to buy a basic new ‘for-home’ use laptop with a a p-4 processor atleast or equivalent AMD etc. My only criterion is that I dont want to spend more than $500.
I’m looking for a cheap reliable laptop without all the fancy features like webcam, bluetooth, wireless and things like that.I will do just basic computing and I will NOT use the internet or games or photoshop. But what interests me is the laptop to last and to be of high quality.I will run small programs which require a quite good processor but I won’t need dedicated graphics or bright display or fancy things like that.
Acer and Toshiba are cheap and look good. Will be going to graduate school so I was wondering if I should go for them??? I will be using it:
1. Microsoft Office (word, pp, excel), checking e-mails
2. Youtube
3. iTunes
4. Research on internet/surfing the web
5. Some online games (once in a while)
I can’t remember the model I’m interested in, just that it’s £379 on John Lewis’s website. I was wondering how good this model is and how reliable the brand is in general? Or if anyone can recommend other laptops under the £400 mark.

I need to Find a great working laptop for use at home. I want it to be Windows XP and I also want it to have lots of memory space. Help!
Walmart is a good one as stated. I would look at Amazon.com as well as they have a search engine that finds the best prices. Once you think you have selected the model then run that model into Streetprices.com and see if anyone has it cheaper
