Already removed from V.H. from control panel. Only virus on computer is V.H.

The name of the program is Personal Anti Virus. I was playing an on-line game. It popped up and automatically downloaded itself. And it’s not located in my control panel. And, is also telling me i need permission to remove this program.

I got this virus that says it’s antivirus software and it won’t close out of. Whenever I try to close out of it or access the control panel this box pops up telling me I need to run the virus scan. I also can’t access the Internet. It tells me access is denied. I have a paper on there that I need. It’s a Sony vio with windows xp. Any suggestions to get this stupid virus off that won’t cost me? How do you remove personal anti-virus for free. Every single program i installed i have to buy to delete. I tried using my antivirus but it didnt detect for some reason. I went onto control panel and deleted the personal antivirus but its still there on my taskbar. Help!

I went into the control panel to remove the anti virus because I have two running at the same time. That was over three hours ago, and it’s still saying wait while windows configures the anti virus.

Recently my computer was infected by "VistaAntivirus 2008", a rouge anti-spyware. I downloaded SmithfraudFix and it worked. However, I still see the virus icon in my control panel and can’t simply drag it to the recycle bin, nothing pops up, my computer doesn’t even allow me to place it in there.

I tried to find Vista in my programs that I could add or remove but it is not there.

Does anyone have an idea of how to get rid of it?

How do I remove the virus Systems Security? It popped up on our main computer when I turned it on. None of the removal guides I have seen online or on YouTube have worked since I can’t open any programs including system restore and the control panel. Other tips were to open it in ‘safe mode’ by pressing F8, but that also did not work. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Found a Windows Virus warning msg on my desktop after I accidentally click on a virus file. It also removed my screen saving function from the control panel. Wonder how I can recover it and also remove the warning msg. Thanks in advance for your kind reply.
