I have two laptops (one XP and one Vista). I use one LAN connection and connect both laptops to the internet using a HUB.
When i try to connect to the other laptop in NETWORK, a window pops up asking me for the USER NAME and PASSWORD which i have no clue what they are. Can anyone tell me how i can share files and data between the two laptops which are connected on the same LAN connection?

I don’t have a desktop to create a wired broadband connection. Although I could do it with one laptop and use a router, is there a way to have an internet connection in my home allowing me to carry my laptops wherever I want? I have Optimum Online btw.
