what good makes of laptops are there apart from dell that sell cheap, thin, good, and preferably in pink laptopss?

It has been my experience that Compaqs are okay. IBM has its moments, Acer is pretty cheap. The only true problem that I have for the cheaper laptops is that the cheaper they are the more it costs for technical assistance if you dont have an extended warranty for it. My advice, no matter what, when you purchase the cheap laptop, make sure that you make your recovery disk so that you are not stuck paying for these disks if something happens to your machine.
As far as them being pink, you can always just purchase a skin for it, pink or whatever color you choose. That is the cheaper route there.
Don’t get a Dell, they have their own spyware installed on each of their computers, and don’t get a Gateway, they just plain bite. Stay away from Acer at all costs! Compaq are okay; pretty bland, but cheap. The HP Pavilions are pretty good, and so are Toshibas. If you’re looking for a pink non-Dell, I would say go with Sony VAIO. But you can get skins for any laptop, if you’re that intent on it being pink.
I, personally, chose the HP. It’s not pink, though.
