It’s hard to find a good virus remover. And even if you have one, there are still a few more steps you must take. To truly remove malware of this type, you have to delete it from your system registry. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you could erase something important and seriously screw up your system.
But really it’s not that hard. Just google the name of the malware it is telling you to buy. Most of these kinds are already well known and it’s easy to find good step-by-step instructions to remove it. Probably should have been more specific in the post.
Be careful when searching, there are still more programs that will try to get you to download another program that will do the same thing. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com is one you can trust. I’m sure there are many others, just check each site for their credentials. Sites with discussion boards and real users are promising. Sites with testimonials that want your money are always bad news.
Good luck!
Welcome to Spyware.

hi there i had the same problem once,
heres what to do
download this:
http://www.revouninstaller.com
then remove the virus program (is it called "internet security 2010" if so do the following)
step 1:
remove it from with in the "revo" program
Follow these steps:
1) On a DIFFERENT computer, download Malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) onto a flash drive. (because this is an on-demand scanner, not an antivirus, this will not conflict with any other antivirus programs you have)
2) On the infected computer, turn it on, and immediately after pressing the power button, hold f8.
3) Use the arrow keys to select "safe mode’. Press "enter".
4) Log in as administrator (no password).
5) Put in the flash drive, install Malwarebytes. After the install, run a full scan with each. They should most likely detect the virus and delete it.
6) Now that the virus is gone, you need to prevent yourself from getting new viruses. According to the latest consumer reports, Avira is the best free antivirus software. You can download it form avira.com.
Would help if you told us which one it is. If they are asking you to buy it there must be a name. The latest pest has been Security Tools, instructions here:

For most the other rogue anti viruses go here for step by step instructions:

You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:
1. Virus-check your data files (not application files– you have installer CDs for those).
2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.
3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.
4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.
5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.
6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.
7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.
8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.
9. Reinstall your data files.
10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.
Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.
So, what do you do in the future?
1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.
2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.
3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.
4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.
5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.
6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.
7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.
Please adhere to the ‘dont’s’ I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.

Remove it using system cleaner like reginout.
It’s not a virus but a rogue anti-virus software. I don’t know which one you have, it could be "Security Suite" or any other rogue program but the removal instructions are basically the same for all rogue programs, so just follow this removal guide: http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2010/08/how-to-remove-security-suite-malware.html
I hope this helps. Good luck!
