so yes I had decided recently to obtain my own Internet connector device, while there is already a modem. However I’ve been desperately trying to get two laptops of mine to connect to the internet while I’m using the internet connector device in one of them, I’ve reeked almost every where but no progress
thanks for reading.

are you saying internet connecter device as a loss for what it really is? do you have a wireless reciever? that is what im thinking you bought. but you need a router to make it work. get a wireless router, and if your laptop doesnt already have wifi built in, a usb reciever for the laptop. if you send me the model numbers of all the devices, (modem, internet connector?, laptops) i can tell you what will work.

If you mean you connect to the Internet from one PC and you want to connect to the Net from the other PC via your first one with the connector device (whatever that is) then on your PC that connects to the Net and has the device, find your Network connection (in XP Network and internet and vista/7 Netowrk and sharing centre) and RIGHT CLICK it. Click properties, and then the “Sharing” tab. Put a check in the box that says “allow other users to connect to the internet through this connection.” Then click apply and close. Try connecting from your other machine again.
