Daughter Wants Laptop For Christmas. Any Good Cheap Laptops Out There?
Ok my daughter wants a laptop for christmas. She really wants a mac but I don’t have the money to afford that right now. I like dell computers and I think a good dell or maybe toshiba laptop would be good for her, all she really is going to use it for is to download music on itunes and use the web.
Is there a laptop out that isn’t a piece of crap but is at an ok price. I was hoping around 200 – 300
at most maybe 400.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

DO NOT get her a Mac, they look nice but just aren’t designed to withstand the uses she would most probably put it through. Plus they are expensive as you said, go to Dell, they do an ‘Inspiron’ (around £400 i think, and great for MSN/iTunes/Internet) which come in some pretty cool colours which should be enough to keep her occupied anyway! Don’t get her ‘one of those small ones’ (a Netbook) as the answerer above me said, they are incredibly hard to use and she’ll start moaning about this a day after you get it.
Good luck!
i know 4 people that have Mac and they just brake and the cost a bomb to fix the screen always goes,
i would defo say ACER or HP , there is the new window 7 out now with smart where, acer are good in the sense that when u plug something in it pretty easy to connect it and get it working,eg, ipod ,phone, camera, . 340 i think for either ones. and the thing is just get a good laptop with 1gb or 2gb memory and by an external hard rive for 50 to 60 pounds and then the laptop will run better.
check http://www.tigerdirect.com , http://www.newegg.com, and http://www.geeks.com for laptops. refurbished laptops are in your price range. and get a warranty from Squaretrade.
Use craigslist.com for really cheap ones, but you have to really research them so you don’t get one that doesn’t work or it’s broken. You might even get one for like $50 or something. Just remember be careful and research.
Try the HP mini, Dell mini, Acer aspire 1, or Asus Eee. Netbooks are probably the best. But for no more, you can get a more powerful net-top(budget desktop). Try the Asus Eeetop or Dell 537s

HA.Onyl if you want one used or want to get her like an 8 inch. How old is she? She really won’t need one unless she’s in High school.
Shop Tiger Direct- cheap + good is an oxymoron.
Those new small laptops are really cheap. . .I’ve seen them for just over 200.
Just go to your local technology store like best buy or future shop and ask around..
