Computer has a virus and restarts before I get to anything, How can I remove the virus?
I have a virus and I tried using my anti-virus software to remove it, but after it ran its course it reset my computer. But now it doesn’t go to my desktop it just asks if i want to start my computer in different safe modes or start it normally, but no matter what I choose it will just restart and do the same thing every time. But I have been able to get into PhenoixBios Setup Utility (whatever that is). So what can I do to remove this virus?

Hey
Just Go to Safe Mode
Delete Manually Viruse
& Also Scan Your Disk With Anti Virus
For Free Anti Virus u can use Avast5
Re-boot your computer in SAFE MODE
To run it in Safe Mode, as soon as your computer turns on hit the F8 key (repeatedly) until a screen comes up
Choose Start computer in SAFE MODE with network support
Download and install Malware Bytes and AVAST free edition
http://malware-virus-spyware-remover-tools.blogspot.com/
Run a FULL SCAN with both programs – They are FREE.
Run in start mode then do the scan again, this might fix it, if not, try reparing via your windows disc, if this still doesnt fix it, just format and reinstall your OS
Without specific information such as what is the name of the virus, what anti virus you are using I can only offer this suggestion:
Try using a different program to remove the virus such as malware antibytes.
I have a link to it here: http://www.pc-prime.com/blog/?p=82
Also, go into safemode and try removing it from there. PhoenixBios is your computer bios.
PCPrime
http://www.pc-prime.com
Re-boot your computer and press F8 repeatedly you will see "SAFE MODE" hit ENTER there
Download and install Malware Bytes and AVAST free edition
or Spyboot thoses a super good and free to use
It seems that you can’t scan your computer when you are running windows as the OS is now being controlled by the virus. Get this Rescue disk:
http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira_antivir_rescue_system.html
Follow the instruction on how to burn it to a CD. Boot from it by making sure that your boot order is CD/DVD as the first boot device. You can scan your computer externally using this disk.
That doesn’t work cause my computer doesn’t have the option to hit F8. I have the ability to hit F10, F12 or Escape but not F8. Also this computer is a laptop
Windows XP – Boot from the XP Install CD. Follow the prompts af if your going to do a fresh install. After the drives list (where you select your current drive C:). Do NOT choose to format. Instead choose R to repair you existing installation. This is called an "In place install", and will reinstall and repair just the Windows components. Don’t confuse this with the Repair Using Recovery Console which displays a couple of screens earlier. This method is pretty awesome and it’s a shame MS didn’t bundle it as a true install option with Vista/7.
Vista and Win7, Boot from the Install disc. Choose to Repair and follow the on screens.
If you’re unlucky enough to have XP/Vista/7 OEM Image discs rather than Retail/OEM Windows Install discs then you’ll need to reinstall. (as image discs usually overwrite your installation and possibly your data).
If you could get to a Safe Mode desktop, a System Restore may be tried if it’s turned on. In several cases however, viruses can actually infect your restoration data making this too impossible. If you can get to Safe Mode in XP, but don’t want to do a System Restore through fear of losing application data, download (from another PCand stick it on a USB) Viceroy’s Registry Restore Wizard. It ONLY restores the registry itself rather than the system files.
If your computer does not go to your desktop, does it at least load to your Desktop background? If so it suggests the virus replaced the Shell location in the registry and although your AV may have removed the virus, it will not undo the changes to Winlogon in the registry.o With this, do a CTRL+ALT+DEL to try and get Task Manager running. If that works do File >> New Task (Run) >> enter EXPLORER.EXE >> OK. You may get your taskbar up and run a system restore from there.

Sorry, this is all but redundant – I’ve just re-read your question and you do say the machine reboots even in safe mode. If you were feeling particularly dodgy you could look for and download Windows XP miniPE.XT or alternative PE ISO on another PC and burn it to disc. You could at least use that to get to a workable GUI and try the Registry Restore Wizard from there. And even if that doesn’t work, at least you have access to backup your data before you reinstall Windows.
Yes you got it! Some days back i was also having the same problem.
I tried so much to recovered from this problem but nothing works.
You boot file is now corrupted.
You have to reinstall your OS.
Better luck for next time use anti-virus program you trusted.
Hi.
Most Computer infections can be taken care of without drastic actions.
The first thing I recommend you do is:
1. Download Malwarebytes (http://malwarebytes.org)
2. Run FULL scan. Delete any found objects and Reboot pc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you cannot do that and have not yet attempted System Restore, I would do that now.
The best way to do this with an infected pc is in Safe Mode. Press F8 when you see your splash screen when you first turn on your computer. Then once booted up…
In vista &7 = type System Restore in start menu. Chose a restore point before the known issue arise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If all else fails, you may have to reinstall windows. This is For Sure going to fix the problem if it was only a virus.
Make sure you have everything you need before you attempt this.
★Original Windows Installation Disc.
★About an hour or 2.
★All original Drivers for all your devices. *usually comes on a disc with your computer.
☆☆IMPORTANT! Back up all files! They will be lost!!!

☆ VISTA & 7 = http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_vista/install_windows_vista.htm
I recommend you use NORTON 360 v4 to protect you. It is so light you will not know it’s there!
☆Remember, most security apps will not help an already infected computer!
